Today is the first day of spring. It’s 2020 and the world is in a state of panic. The pandemic is sweeping across the world’s nations and taking the lives of our loved ones. This era of fear and anxiety is being purported and magnified by the government, news sources, social media, and even within our families and communities.
It’s impossible to escape.
We are all trying to protect our root-chakra needs of safety and security, but in times of uncertainty and scarcity, there is very little we can do other than wash our hands, keep distance from other people, and remain positive.
This article, and supplemental guided meditation, focuses on the latter of those three things; remaining positive. I care deeply about the state of the world and I wish to offer my tools and services to help those in need. If you’re simply looking for some words of inspiration, check out this Letter from Love.
We could all use a breather right now. So, I offer this to you, my dear reader, a welcome reprieve from the constant state of disinfecting, fear-mongering, and panic-shopping. There are things we can do right now (and anytime) that will help us keep our immune systems strong and keep our mindset away from the worst-case-scenario.
We can help curb our anxiety by creating a shell of protection.

By creating a shell of protection, we create an impenetrable force that can help to protect you from your own fears and worries. It can ward off possible panic attacks or help you avoid being drawn into situations of low vibrations, too. If you wish to overcome fear, act with confidence, and maintain alignment with your highest self, then this mindfulness exercise is exactly what you need.
Before we begin, remember, this tool is always available to us. It can be done before bed, while riding in the car or bus, or even while you are in the middle of work.
Whenever you feel fear or anxiety strike, or if you feel like there is potential for fear or danger to enter your space, you can activate the shield of protection. Essentially, this is a visualization strategy that creates an energetic field around you and activates the healing properties of your physical being.
Together, we will go through the steps of creating a shield of protection that you can use any time, any place. There are many ways of going about this, so, get creative with your practice later on. Use the energetic field to strengthen your immune system, block negative energy from your home, build a safety buffer around your car, or even to help give you a boost of confidence before a job interview.
This tool is always available, so long as, we remember to use it.

Take this moment to call on your highest self, your spirit guide, or even a loved one who has passed to come into your energetic space and offer support for whatever you need. Whether or not you work with spirit guides or angels regularly, they are always present. When we call for something or someone specific, their specific energy gets stronger.
Today we will call on Archangel Raphael, the angel of Healing.
Repeat silently to yourself:
I invite the loving presence of Archangel Raphael, the angel of healing, to provide me with vitality and health in my mind, body, and spirit.
The shield can appear in many forms. You can choose the color, size, shape, and texture. You can decide how far the protection extends and what, exactly, to protect.
The more specific you are, the better.
Today, we will visualize an emerald green light because that is the color that is traditionally associated with Archangel Raphael.
Imagine this glimmering, shining, deep emerald-green light forming an orb around your entire body.
It encapsulates your entire physical body, from head to toe, then extends as far as you wish for it to go.
Tell Raphael the extent of protection you wish to receive.
This is when you give your shell a job to do. What is the specific purpose of this shield of protection? For this practice of strengthening the immune system and overcoming fear we will use the following affirmations.
I am not attached to fears and worries about my health.
I am capable of fending off viruses and germs that could poorly affect my health.
I consciously activate my body’s innate ability to heal itself.
I claim my personal power to attract health and wellbeing.
You can always come back to one of all of these affirmations. Repeat them to yourself as many times as you wish throughout the day.
Within this healing orb of light, you feel protected, safe, and comfortable. Allow yourself to float within this womb of protection and healing.
Visualize the emerald green lights activating the healing system within you… Notice the slowness of your breath, the gentle rhythm of your heart beat… Know that you are safe…
You can handle whatever life throws at you.
You are healthy.
You are without fear.
You are stepping into your own power.
When you decide the time is right, open your eyes with the sure-mind that you are secure, safe, and protected. Use this meditation anytime you feel the need for protection against fear or viruses. Remember, you can use the shell of protection in many ways.
