Reiki is a way of connecting with ourselves and with source energy. I first learned about it a few years ago, but just a few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of having my first distance Reiki session with Whitney.
Before I jump in: Hi! I’m Anna, and I had the pleasure of receiving a distance reiki session from Whitney a few weeks ago. I met Whitney via Instagram a couple of years ago now, and I find it so amazing that our paths have converged, especially so much this year!
My session took place at the absolute best timing. In the middle of a pretty big life transition, I found myself living in a bit of a haze, with my mind constantly jumping from one thing to another, anxiously trying to solve everything at once. I hadn’t made time to sit and breathe, and my body was really starting to feel it.
It is definitely hard to make the best decisions and to live in alignment when you’re stressed in body and mind for too long. Which is why I am so grateful for Whitney’s calming presence and the beautiful energetic exchange we had!
As it was my first time receiving distance Reiki, I wanted to share with you what the experience was like and a little about how everything works in case you’re a first-timer and feeling curious, too!
Upon booking my session, Whitney sent me an email with an intake form and another document with over 20 reflection and journaling prompts.
The journal prompts were amazing for helping me to come back into my body after being just inside my head for so long! She asked me to reflect on my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, which helped me to get a better overall view of how everything was working together. While I found the prompts to be really helpful for me, they aren’t “required” for the session if journaling isn’t your thing. This part is really flexible and totally for you and what you need. You also can keep them private, you only have to share insights with Whitney if you’d like to!
Within the intake form, Whitney let me know what I could expect from her in the session, which put my mind at ease (I love knowing what to expect, especially when doing something for the first time!).
The day before the session, Whitney also sent me the link to a guided meditation that I had the option to listen to during the session.
A few minutes before the start time of our session, I sent Whitney a recent selfie for her to refer to while sending me reiki.

At the time that our distance reiki session started, I began listening to the pre-recorded guided meditation. It helped me immensely to stay connected and keep my mind from wandering off to all of the things on my to-do list.
As the session began, I immediately felt the muscles in my lower body unclench and relax as she began to direct reiki into my root chakra. My entire body felt warm and like it was being cradled in love and warmth.
I actually nodded off a few times through the 25 minutes, which was incredible considering the trouble I had been having with falling asleep! The level of relaxation my body went into was unbelievable and so absolutely needed!
After about 25 minutes of receiving Reiki, the guided meditation came to an end, and I hopped onto a Zoom call with Whitney to talk about everything that came through for both of us. It felt like such a safe space, where she could share her insights with me and I could share mine back.
While on the call, she went through each of my chakras to determine which ones were balanced, imbalanced, or in need of extra support. Whitney was very thorough and made sure I understood every bit of information she shared with me!
It was incredible to hear from her about which of my chakras were imbalanced before the session, because each one deeply connected to something I was presently feeling in my body and my life at the time. She was always so kind and gentle about the feedback, but still very open and honest about the insights she received, which I loved and appreciated so much.
At the end of the call, Whitney went through the Oracle card pull she did for me during the session. The reading was completely spot-on and incredibly insightful. The deck was beautiful in art and in their messages! I really treasured the messages that came through and felt that they were channeled exactly for me at that moment.
By the end of our session together, I felt more relaxed than I had in weeks! During a time of a lot of changes and transition in my life (which was causing a lot of anxiety for me), Whitney brought me to a place of peace and helped my entire body to fully relax, and brought my mind and soul back to its center.
In the following days, I had noticeably more energy, clarity, and an overall feeling of peace. The timing for our session couldn’t have been better, and I am so happy to have gotten to share this space and energy with Whitney!
Distance reiki is an amazing way to reconnect with yourself and feed your mind, body, and soul with the energy of healing and relaxation. Whitney’s passion and warmth can be felt from the very first second, and I always felt as though I was in loving, trustworthy hands.
